ADAC SUMMER CHAMPIONSHIPS 2017

There will be three championships to contest this year:

  • The main championship
  • The Womens’ championship
  • The age graded championship

You can score in a maximum of  8 races. One must be from Group A , two from Group B and any five other races from the list.

Group A

  • Kirkcudbright Half Marathon
  • Dumfries Half Marathon
  • Great Cumbrian run / Great Scottish run

Group B

  • Hightae
  • Holywood Stroll ENTRY FORM
  • Buckland Burn Up / Gelston 5m
  • Langholm Doctor’s Run
  • Carlisle Parkrun

Points will be as follows:

20 points for first

18 points for second

16 points for third

15 for fourth, then 14, 13 etc down to 1 point. In addition everyone will receive 5 points for completing the event.

An additional 5 points will be awarded for the completion of a further two races.

Club vests or t-shirts must be worn in formal races (as indicated below) in order to qualify for points. All ADAC club races will have a handicapped start with actual course times deciding the rankings. Please bring your own watch to all ADAC events as timekeepers may not always be present.

Thursday 27th April 7:00pm – Brydekirk 6.75 miles (ADAC H/cap)

Tuesday 9th May 7:00 – Holywood stroll 5 mile (Club vest)

Wednesday 17th May 7:15 – Carlisle City Urban Trail race 10k***

Saturday 27th May 1:00pm - Kirkcudbright Half Marathon (Club vest)

Thursday 15th June 7:00pm Lockerbie 6 mile (ADAC H/cap)

Saturday 24th June 11:00 Buckland Burn Up 5 mile (Club vest) **

Tuesday 11th July 7:15pm – Moffat Gala Run 15km (Club vest) date tbc

Tuesday 25th July 7:00pm – Gelston 5 miles (Castle Douglas) (Club vest) ** date tbc

Saturday 12th August 10:30 – Annan 10 mile (ADAC H/cap)

Sunday 27th August 10:30 – Dumfries 10km (Club vest)***

Sunday 3rd September 11:30am – Langholm Doctor’s Run 8m (Club vest)

Sunday 10th September 11:00am – Dumfries Half Marathon (Club vest)

Sunday 1st October – Great Cumbrian run (Club vest)*

Sunday 1st October 11:30am – Great Scottish run (Club vest)*

Saturday 7th October 10:30 – Gretna Green 10km (ADAC H/cap)

 

To provide some flexibility I have included some either / or events. Points will only be awarded for one race. If you choose to compete in each race then you will be awarded your best points:

*Great Cumbrian run OR Great Scottish run

** Buckland Burn Up OR Gelston 5m

*** Carlisle City Urban Trail race 10k OR Dumfries 10k

 

Carlisle Parkrun: Competitors can take part in any Carlisle Parkrun from Saturday 15th April – 14th October 2017. It is the competitors’ responsibility to ensure that I receive your best Parkrun time and the date that it was achieved by Sunday 15th October 2017.

 

Endurance event: An endurance event is any event of 20 miles+ running event. This year you can claim points for taking part in an endurance event anytime from Saturday 15th April to Saturday 14th October.  You will be able to claim 20 points in total (15 points + 5 participation points) for this event and substitute this event for one of your additional 5 races (you must still do a race from Group A and two from Group B). In order to qualify for these points:

  • you must enter this event under ADAC
  • you must provide me with details for accessing the official results of the race

As many people raise money for charity at endurance events you are free to wear whatever vest / t-shirt you choose.
