WINTER LEAGUE 2018/9
Our Winter league this year will be a little different to previous years. Less races will mean more time for athletes to train and compete in other events outwith the schedule.
There will be 11 races in total of which 8 will count towards each athlete's final points total.
In addition to our own handicapped events (which we are currently applying for permits to include guests) we will be joining up with our Juniors to tackle a possible 3 Cross Country races.
ONE of these races Cross Country events (see below) must attempted and a bonus of 10pts will be added if all 3 are completed.
The Cross Country events are handicapped in a similar way to our own and these are organised by the Cumbria Cross Country League. There is a small charge in these events. Full details will be posted prior to the event.
We hope to have each race permit in place within the next few weeks and these will be posted below when they are ready.
All dates are provisional. If all 11 events are attempted there will be an extra 10 pt bonus. Scoring will be the same as it has been in previous years - each athlete will receive 5pts for competing each event up to a max. of 8 plus the usual placing in both finishing position and age grade %. All races, apart from Cross country races, will start at 1030 with the first set of runners heading off at that time. Whilst we hope to have time keepers in place it is essential that athletes bring their own watches.
