A fine turnout of club members and guests from other clubs took part in the "FUN" weekend series of races last weekend.

The weather was not kind this year but , as the the title suggests , running at this time of year can be very unpredictable.

On Friday evening athletes turned up for the Lockerbie road race with guest Angus Johnstone taking top spot. Conditions were mild but windy and the 2 lap course went down well with everyone. Times were impressive especially considering the strong wind.

On Saturday the venue was Annan Academy playing fields and a cross country course "down to the shore" (almost) firstly running around the playing fields then heading out and back. Runners were greeted with 60mph gusts and hail stones. Once again Angus crossed the line with the fastest time. A much welcome post run "warm up" with Soup and other delights followed at Casa de Cazza !

Sunday dawned and the venue this time was Ecclefechan with a trail run around Brownmoor forest. This popular course tested everyone with the first mile uphill rising some 300ft. Many tired legs were in evidence but all agreed that the weekend had been a great success.

We have a caption contest now below.

Alan Cameron celebrated his 49th birthday and was presented with a cake. Nigel in his excitement unfortunately dropped the cake. Send your captions by email here: info@annananddistrictathleticclub.co.uk
