WEEKLY NEWS ROUND UP 20/11/17

Welcome to the first weekly news round up.

Danny and Joe hand over another cheque from the 500 lap challenge.

On Wednesday evening Danny Bryden and Joe Boardman handed over another cheque to the Nith Inshore rescue over in Glencaple. After the hand over they were shown around and met many of the volunteer crewe who protect those who get into difficulty on the Solway and Nith. Funds raised from the 500 lap challenge will be put to good use keeping the public safe. Our picture shows some of the volunteer crewe (left to right) Peter Bryden, Joe Bilous and Lewis Brodick. Many thanks go to Ian cowie for the picture and showing us around.

Junior presentation evening.

On Friday night the Junior presentation evening took place in Annan.  It was great to see the stars of the future being duly rewarded with certificates, cups and medals in recognition of their efforts during the season. You can read more about this by clicking HERE

Our picture shows the wealth of talent we have in our Junior section.

Fun cycling group gets on their bikes.

The Saturday fun cycling group had another get together this week and there were some familiar faces (Caroline Legg) who enjoyed a group ride of around 20 miles. Coffee and cake was also part of the day out -sounds like a good deal.

Senior Winter league Race No.2 - Wamphray

The Seniors had their 2nd race of the season on Sunday in cold and frosty but sunny weather up at Wamphray. The event was hosted by Kevin and Louise Plummer (many thanks) and the excellent turn out (ages ranging from 17 to 80) enjoyed some fine hospitality afterwards. Results of the race will appear later in the week but the event was won yet again by Ewan Fairgrieve in another course record.

Fantastic !
