WEEKLY NEWS ROUND UP 10/12/17

A chilly West District championships.

Our Juniors travelled up to Irvine on Saturday to compete at the West District XC championships. It was a chilly day on the coast but they braved the cold and you can read all about their success by clicking on HERE.  Many thanks to Julie for compiling the results.

Pieter drops in on training.

Pieter Frijters , an International thrower from Belgium visited Junior training on Sunday and gave some very useful tips to our young throwers.

Seniors Winter league event No.4

Our Seniors were in action in the Arctic today-well it could have been warmer in the Arctic but they travelled across to Dalbeattie for a 5 mile forest run to the “Heartstone” and back. The stone sits at the top of one of the hills in the forest and is well known to locals. Touching the stone will bring good luck.  The race was won yet again by Ewan Fairgrieve. Soup, snacks and hot drinks were made available on the day by Graham and Susan McLellan. Many thanks guys and well done everyone.  Full results will be available later in the week.

STOP - it's HAMMER TIME !

Danny and Hannah travelled up to a very cold Grangemouth for the 2nd Hammer development day. Special guest coaches Henry Hunter and Martin from Athlete focussed were on hand to put them through their session. Well done guys !

Looking ahead..................

Next Saturday sees the final Cumbria League cross country event at Workington with the first race starting at 12pm. There are races for every age group including Seniors.

The Seniors will be up to no good next Sunday at 1030 in Annan. You may see some interesting sights if you look carefully as they are holding their annual fancy dress Christmas run.
